Welcome!
PODIATRY SURVIVAL PAGES
OUR CREDO:

1. Keep your patient's interestest first and foremost over yours. Ironically, that is your most powerful practice management and survival tool. Honor your spouse. Your spouse is going over the same road you are.

2. Substitute anger and rage behaviors over your present plight with achievement of personal goals and research into solving your personal and professional problems.

3. Adopt a personal goal toward reduction of animal products in your diet, with the eventual goal of soy and bean based vegetarian diets. This means substitution of animal based proteins with entirely vegetarian products.

4. Establish a regular exercise program, at least 3-5 times/week of regular aerobic and weight training sessions. Look forward to and enjoy them. Chances are you have treated patients who are permanantly in wheelchairs for various reasons. They cannot ever enjoy the feeling of freedom that you have to exercise. Revel in your freedom.

5. Substitute charity based behaviors for presently selfish and "I" oriented actitivities. These will get you out into the community and expose your practice to new patients, besides providing you with a substitution for your present rage and anger based thinking.

6. Avoid alcohol, illegal drugs and tobacco. Their manufacturers are out to gain profit entirely at your expense.

7. All addictive behaviors cannnot be just "shelved." The only way to deal with addictive bahaviors is by substitution of healthy and thoughtful ones in their place.

8. Seek professional advice and counseling if your anger prevents you from adopting the lifestyles that will be to your ultimate advantage. Often your anger and rage is the bitter fruit of a previous situation in your life over which you had little or no control. But you have that control now. In order to change, you must first recognize the genesis of your anger.

9. Seek the spiritual aspect of your life. For religious people that is their personal God. For atheists, that is the substitution of charity and community for personal activities.

10. Do research on improving your life. Read Phil McGraw Ph.D.'s books on achieving personal goals
